SATURday 17 MAY
Presented by FORD FIESTA, NOVA & ANDREW MCMANUS
Australia’s favourite electro-pop
rockers The
Rogue Traders
have announced their biggest ever Australian tour for
April/May.
In news that is sure to delight
their legions of fans, the band is set to play an initial 21
shows all around Australia in their first
major tour in more than 18 months – with more dates to be
announced soon!
James Ash, Cameron McGlinchey,
Danny Spencer and Natalie Bassingthwaighte, fresh from her very
successful TV
venture hosting the hit series “So You Think You Can
Dance”, will hit the road
playing small and large regional centres, as well as capital cities, in
one of
the most ambitious tours undertaken by a major Australian band this
year. The shows will be the ONLY chance to see the
band in concert this year.
Rogue Traders are particularly
keen to visit regional areas that have given stellar support to their
records
and where they have never played before. The band is refreshed and
ready to
unleash new material from their platinum album ‘Better In The
Dark’, plus all
the hits from their 2005 smash ‘Here Come The
Drums’.
Two years of solid touring behind
‘Here Come The Drums’ has turned the Rogues into a
formidable live act, and
Miss Bassingthwaighte into an infectious, vampish frontwoman
exhilarating
audiences everywhere. “The audience is so vibrant and they
feed you as much as
you feed them,” Natalie says. “The fans get dressed
up in my costumes which
adds to the whole fun element of the show!”
To
coincide with the tour, the third single from ‘Better In The
Dark’ titled ‘What
You’re On’ is at media from March 15 accompanied by
another must-see
video. The song is a band favourite and
considered by many to be one of the album’s absolute
stand-outs.
The ‘Better In The Dark’ tour
will give the band the chance to build on the foundations laid by
‘Here Comes
The Drums’. The album sold four times platinum (more than
300,000 units), spent
80 weeks in the ARIA Top 100, garnered four ARIA nominations and
spawned five
massive hits in ‘Voodoo Child’, ‘Way To
Go!’, ‘Watching You’,
‘We’re Coming
Home’ and ‘In Love Again’.
So
with a swag of their old favourites and the infectious new songs being
played
for the first time, no wonder the Rogues can’t wait to get
crackin’!
Ford is delighted to be sponsoring the tour.
Ford’s Nick Cummins said: “The band's immense
popularity across Australia will allow us to increase awareness and
consideration of the Ford brand amongst younger audiences.”
